Circa 19th Century: When you examine this wonderful redhead decoy closely, you'll notice it has square nail eyes, which dates this early 12.5" long duck decoy to the 1800s. The body is a shaped from a single pices of wood and the skillfully carved head is attached with tiny square brads. The highly oxidized and crazed paint is either original or super old working paint, but we think the surface is most likely original. This is a fine early decoy.
