Circa 1920s-1930s: Antique signs that advertise services for tools are always popular to trade sign collectors and this small 21 5/8"W x 11 5/8"H black, white, and gray Saws Filed sign freatures outlined letters and a pinstriped border with a cut corner design. In order to prevent the sign from warping, the maker first nailed breadboard ends to the single poplar board, which worked wonderfully. The reverse side is heavily weathered and probably advertises real estate or another product available at the shop, but one would assuredly choose to show the graphically pleasing Saws Filed side.
