Circa 1892: Designed by Charles A. Bailey and manufactured by The J. & E. Stevens Company in Cromwell, Connecticut, Professor Pug Frog's Great Bicycle Feat is one of the most ingenious cast iron mechanical banks ever produced. This example, the red base variation with an unusually soft and beautiful finish, is all original, including Mother Goose's oft replaced tongue, has excellent original paint, and is in working condition. To operate, put a coin over the rear bike wheel and turn the crank. Professor Pug frog and his boneshaker bicycle make a seemingly impossible revolution and drop the penny in the clown's coin slot while Mother Goose wags her tongue. This is a very scarce bank, and to find one so nice is no easy task.
