Circa 1840-1860: Featuring a trio cobalt brushed leaves on front and back and tooled lug handles swathed in blue, this handsome 5 3/8"H x 8 1/4"D half gallon butter crock was most probably potted by Philadelphia's Henry or Richard Remmey in the mid 19th century. The crock is in good condition with moderate typical minor chipping around the top lip as photograhed and no cracks or repairs. This is a nice example of a very popular and collectible form created by one of America's most storied potting families.
