Circa 1870: Stoneware produced at Morgantown, West Virginia's Thompson Pottery is hard to come by and highly desirable in collecting circles. This beefy four gallon storage jar stands 14.75" tall and is decorated top to bottom with the Thompson family's signature ferns. The jar is in excellent conditon with typical minor handle flakes and factory firing anomolies but is otherwise undamaged with no cracks or repairs.
