Circa 1900: East Hampton, Connecticut's N.N. Hill Brass Company innovated the manufacture of small bells and produced a superb line of cast iron pull toys that incorporated their bells. Among the most desirable is the 6.5" long hunter and rabbit bell toy pictured here. This fantastic bell toy presents a hunter taking aim at a rabbit that ducks in and out of its hole as the toy is pulled. Simultaneously, the bell rings melodiously as it rocks with movememt of the toy. This rare early 20th century toy is in completely original paint with no touch ups, cracks, or repairs.
