Circa 1930s: Founded in 1898, Lancaster, Pennsylvania's Hubley Company manufactured a bevy of cast iron toys, such as still and mechanical banks and animal drawn toys (among many other things), but the historic firm has garnered its most lasting fame from their line of realistic toy Harley-Davidson and Indian motorcycles. This handsome orange 9" Harley-Davidson motorcycle has no chips, cracks, or repairs and is in all original condition including paint, tires, removable cop rider, and functioning clicking mechanism. This particular example comes straight from the personal collection of Stevie and Bill Weart, co-authors of Cast Iron Automotive Toys: A Schiffer Book for Collectors (Schiffer Publishing Ltd. 2000).
