Circa 1831-1835: Job and John Jackson produced a series of light colored historical Staffordshire American views at the Church Yard Works in England's Burslem, Staffordshire, including this 7.25"H (to tip of handle) purple cream jug depicting Schenectady on the Mohawk River. The creamer has a lovely peacock feather border and shows a view of Schenectady with buildings along the river. Condition is excellent with one minor glaze rub on the bottom rim under the handle, no other chips, cracks, or repairs, and typical as made firing anomalies. Historical Stafforshire pitchers are tough to find in great shape, and this attractive upstate New York scene made for the American market will be an eye catching addition to one's collection.
