Circa 1820s: According to Sam Laidacker's iconic tome The Standard Catalogue of Anglo-American China from 1810 to 1850 published in 1938, the scarce Lake George, State of New York pattern was produced only on the 16.5" platter manufactured by the English firm Enoch Wood & Sons as part of their classic dark blue Shell Border with Circular Center series made for the American market in the 1820s. This is an extremely scarce view as it was only presented on one shape, and this beautiful platter is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs and only a few short knife marks on the front and typical minor shelf wear on the bottom. Most collectors never get the chance to see this pattern, and it rarely appears on the open market. We've had this platter in our personal collection for several years and are finally giving the public a chance to own it.
