Circa 1825: Historical Staffordshire and cup plate collectors will delight in having the opportunity to add this rare dark blue historical Staffordshire Staughton's Church, Philadelphia 4 1/8"D cup plate from the short lived partnership of Ralph Stevenson and Aldborough Loyd Williams. This cup plate bears Stevenson and Williams' well documented R.S.W. mark on the reverse, which cements its manufacture solidly to the mid 1820s, and also has the impressed Stevenson stamp that was used until approximately 1830. The cup plate has a view of the church surrounded by Stevenson's classic oak leaf and acorn border. Condition is excellent with one minute nick on reverse and no cracks or repairs. This cup plate does not often surface and is the only one we have offered in our two decades in the trade.
