Circa 1880: This 11.25" tall one gallon jug from the New Geneva, Pennsyvlania, firm John P. Eberhart and Company is just about as clean as it gets and is in superb nearly as made condition with only some extrmely minor wear around the spout and no other chips, cracks, repairs, or restorations. Examples of Eberhart's stoneware are fairly tough to find in today's market, and this well potted jug has a good readable stencil and an ample coating of salt that gives it an attractive shine.
