Circa 1930s: Chad Valley, Great Britian's leading toy firm, drew inspiration from Steiff and began producing soft toys in the 1920s. Chad Valley brings exceptional detail with the black and gold mohair, velveteen face with glass eyes, felt hands, and large leatherette shoes assembled into this fantastic 12" tall bumble bee character. Located on the bee's back side, the original manufacturer's button reads "Chad Valley British Hygienic Toys." The bumble bee features movable mohair covered wire arms arms, amber and black glass eyes and expressive printed velvet face, making this interesting and tough to find figure one of the most humorous of all their creations.
