Circa 1905: Lehmann's 6" tall Paddy's Dancing Pig is one of the most whimsical and fantastic German tin windup toys of the early 20th century, featuring an Irishman saddled atop a pig and ready for the ride of his life. When wound, Paddy twists as the pig rolls forward. This early production version of the toy has only a 12 May 1903 patent mark on the bottom and is in spectacular all originial near mint condition with only minor typical age related oxidation stains on the clothing. The box is in excellent condition with minor imperfections as photographed. We purchased this classic tin windup several years ago from the esteemed Abby Schroeder Collection, where it was on exhibit in her museum. We've enjoyed this toy in our own collection and are finally offering it on the public market.
