Circa 1850-1875: Measuring 7" in height by 11" in diameter (excluding handles), this handsome early bentwood swing handled pantry box in original slate blue paint features hand cut square nails and an unusally constructed and visually appealing swing mechanism where the handle ends are fastened to applied hand chamfered wooden strips with screws. Condition is excellent with expected age related paint wear and no chips, cracks, or repairs. This is a very fine thick-walled box with lots of bells and whistles.
