Circa 1890-1920: We have seen a lot of pull toys over the years, but this is the first time we have come across this example consisting of three complexly painted composition roosters on spring legs atop a wooden base with its original mustard ground and black painted feet. We have also seen examples of rooster squeak toys that have their feet painted on the base in this fashion, but this is the only time we have found this treament on a pull toy. Measuring 7 1/2"H x 10 3/8"L x 3 5/16"D, this scarce and beautiful antique toy has survived in pristine nearly as made condition with only very minor typical wear.
