9 3/8" Pantry Box in Rare Original Plum Paint

Circa 1870-1890: Pantry boxes in original plum paint are extremely scarce, and this 9 3/8"D x 5"H thick-walled New England pantry box in original plum paint decoration has been part of our personal collection for years. This fantastic fourth quarter 19th century bentwood pantry box is constructed with square nails and is in excellent stable condition with honest age related paint wear, minor imperfections and no chips, cracks or repairs. In our twenty years in the antiques business, this is the only plum pantry box we have ever owned. We have absolutely enjoyed it, and we know you will, too.
