Circa 1880s: This 15.5" square double-sided gameboard has an attractive mustard ground that makes the board pop and gives it an excellent visual presence. The checkerboard is a classic black and mustard, and the backgammon board has red added to the mix. Both sides show great honest wear, and the paint exhibits the proper crazing for the period. The board has a mitred walnut frame and is attached with small hand cut square nails. This is an exceptionally clean and tasteful 19th century handmade gameboard.
