Circa 1895-1925: The Arts and Crafts movement was extremely popular in America from the mid 1890s through the first quarter of the 20th century, and the nation was ablaze with a myriad of businesses selling craftsman furniture, lamps, pottery, metalwork, and other products. One could even purchase an arts and crafts bungalow via mail order catalog. This 18"H x 30"W wooden double sided paint decorated Art-O-Craft Studio smalt trade sign is in excellent as found condition with all orginial paint and typical use wear as photogrpahed and is a great reminder of the small brick and mortar studios that produced the arts and crafts goods that today's collectors covet. The sign is small enough to hang just about anywhere and large enough to make a major visual statement.
