11.5" Bail Handled Pantry Box in Original Blue Paint

Circa 1860-1880: This outstanding bail handled pantry box in original dark blue paint was found in the Shenandoah Valley and is constructed of southern yellow pine; so it most likely was made right here in Virginia. Condition is superb with only typical expected age related minor wear to the original paint and upper rim of the lid and no chips, cracks, or repairs. The large 6 5/8"H x 11 1/2"D box features square nail construction, retains its original bail, and is as sturdy as the day it was made. This is exactly how we like to find them and is the niceest bail handled box we have offered in years.
