Unusual Paint Decorated Mermaid Whirligig

Circa 1920-1940: This striking 16.5"L x 13.5"H (including stand) mermaid whirligig has an outstanding finely crazed and highly detailed original three color paint decorated surface with only very minor minimal paint loss. Because the mermaid has survived in nearly mint condition with no breaks or restoration, we feel it was probably so prized that it was kept indoors and never subjected to nature's forces. This is an eye catching and unusual folk art whirligig, and in our twenty years in the antiques trade we have never come across another example like it.
