Circa 1882: James H. Bowen of Philadelphia PA invented and designed Paddy And The Pig and the bank was manufactured by the J. & E. Stevens Company of Cromwell CT. They pictured it for sale in a number of their catalogs as the Shamrock Bank. This classic original cast iron mechanical bank has 85-90 percent retention of it original paint and has no chips, cracks, touch-ups, repairs, or replacements.
