Circa 1840-1860: This lovely 11" mochaware bowl features earthworm decoration on a brilliant blue ground and is bordered on top and bottom with dark brown-black stripes. This is a nice, large example of English mochaware and will stand out in any collection of early English and American ceramics. This wonderful early bowl has no repairs or touch-ups and a nice clean rim and foot, but please note spider and age spots on inside.
