Circa 1818-1846: Erith on the Thames was one of the great Englsih tourist attractions in the early 19th century, and this 12 7/8" x 10" bacon platter is a great example of Wood and Sons work. The fabulous shell border frames the river scene, and the dark blue platter is signed on the back with the impressed Wood & Sons Burslem mark. There is one tiny nick on the rim and possibly a tiny glued repair on the rim, but this early and hard to find view is in excellent condition.
