Circa Early 20th Century: Probablty manufactured in Maine, this whimsical painted child's sled measures a mere 27.5" long by10.5" wide and was obviously designed to fit a child. The red, white, and black original paint decoration shows apppropriate wear, and the addition of the word fancy with its line of white dots along with the pinstriping and other hand done embellishments makes the sled a visual joy. There are minor condition issues such as a typical age crack and some extra nails that were added during the sled's in use lifetime, but none of this takes away from the charm of this lovely sled itself. Because of its petite size, this fancy sled doesn't take up a lot of space and can be displayed just about anywhere. Ex. Bill Quinn Antiques.
