Circa Late 1920s: The large pressed steel American National trucks are hard to find, especially in all original condition; so this 27" long Bulldog dump truck is a rare survivor. American national is primarily known for their pedal cars and tricycles, and they briefly manufactured large pressed steel vehicles in the late twenties in an attempt to compete with other prominent toy manufacturers such as Buddy L, Keystone, and Steelcraft. This dump truck is made to resemble the iconic Mack and is in completely original red and black with yellow pinstriped paint decoration and includes its original rubber tires and hand crank with working clicker mechanism. The paint has typical play wear and rust, especially on its bed; however, it is plain to see that this rare pressed steel toy in an amazing state of originality was respectfully and lovingly used.
