Circa 1936-1938: Inside Bottom Rings— This early number 4 Fiesta bowl in the yellow glaze can be dated to the first two years only of the beginning of the fiestaware production in 1936. The inside bottom rings were etched in by hand on a jiggering machine and proved to laborious for Homer Laughlin. In order to cut costs and speed production of their increasingly popular tableware line, they soon decided to remove these inside bottom rings. This bowl has a wonderful glaze without scratches or signs of use, please note a glaze pop in the inside bottom in the second picture and some glaze variation around the rim, but there is no damage or signs of use on this 1930s Homer Laughlin fiesta bowl. Measures 7 11/16"D x 5 1/16"H.
