Circa 1936-1938: Well, here it is the king daddy of them all — the giant #7 Fiesta nesting bowl. The sheer size of this bowl begs the question "What were they thinking at Homer Laughlin?" Even undertaking such a large piece of pottery, using the hand techniques of the late 30s, seems brazen indeed. Not only would the piece have to be spun around on a jiggering machine to be hand tooled on the inside, but it would then have to be fired once, then set to cool for days, then hand dipped in the finicky original light green, set in a kiln, and fired again. However, the painstaking result is worth it, for the final result is one of the highlights of the entire line. Measuring a whopping 10 15/16"D x 7 1/8"H and impressed in the mold "HLCo fiesta MADE IN USA 7," this gorgeous original green mixing bowl is in very good condition, showing little to no wear and having typical glaze variation as photographed.
