Circa 1951-1959: The 1950s gray glaze was a departure from the original Fiestaware colors. Bold and vibrant hues were replaced with the more subtle mid-century colors. Gray, forest green, chartreuse and rose gave off a modern vibe. Even with the introduction of these new colors, the Fiesta tableware line's sales continued to decline. Collectors today will have a harder time finding the '50s versions of shapes because smaller quantities were made. The disc pitcher remains a classic shape and can be found in all the glaze; so it's a fantastic famous shape on which to mix and match your favorite colors. The sophisticated mid-century gray does not disappoint and takes on hues of a room's natural light and color to blend into your decor. This example is nicely marked in the mold on the bottom " HLC fiesta Made in USA," measures 7 1/2" tall x 8 3/4"w x 5"d, and has no chips, cracks, or repairs.
