Circa 1936: Fiesta pottery in the original old ivory vellum glaze with three hand applied graduated red stripes was available only for a few months as an expensive special factory order from Newell, West Virginia's infamous Homer Laughlin China Company, and, thus, because of its high price and short production run, any piece of vintage Fiestaware in this pattern is considered a rarity. We know of only three red striped Fiesta relish trays in existence, and this stunning true rarity in spectacular collector quality condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs is one of them.
This tray also contains four matching thick-walled ivory inserts that are impressed with the famous Fiesta logo and an ivory center insert with a single hand painted red stripe around its rim. The ivory base has three hand-painted graduated red stripes running around its wide-lipped rim, creating an extremely graphic border that captures its viewers and draws them into its decorated center for a metaphorical bullseye.
Most collectors never get to see a piece of rare red stripe, let alone own one. This is your opportunity to purchase one of the finest vintage Fiesta red stripe items ever to grace the open market.
