Circa 1936-1943: One of the great pieces of the Vintage Fiesta pottery line, the large 12" footed comport, crosses over from dinnerware to art pottery when used on the table to display fruits or flowers. The slip cast foot would have been hand applied and the top made on a jiggering machine; then, the two pieces would have been joined by hand. Measuring 12 1/2"D x 3 1/2"H, this example in the original red glaze is in excellent condition with wonderful rings that were obviously carefully crafted by hand on the jiggering machine and a great surface that shows very little use and no chips, cracks, or repairs — just a great vintage piece in the highly desirable red glaze.
