Circa 1937-1943: The 11 3/4" Fiesta bowl is the widest of all the vintage fiesta bowls produced, measuring 11 5/16" from rim to rim, 4 1/2" diameter at base, and 3" in height. This unique Fiesta piece was referred to as the "salad nappie" by designer and creator Frederick Rhead, who envisioned it as a bowl to be used with the Fiesta Kitchen Kraft fork and spoon utensils.
Details, like the pair of incised rings just under the lip, remind us of the Kitchen Kraft casseroles and other bowls from that line. Although plenty of other rings were added, including hand etched circless on the inside bottom, molded ones on the marked bases, and even more hand etched signature Fiesta rings along the top inside rim that generously cascade into the bowl.
Please note this example shows very minor wear inside in a couple areas and is priced accordingly. The mold mark "Fiesta/HLC USA" is nice and crisp, encircled by four graduated rings.
