Circa 1932-1942: During the Southwest decorating craze of the 1930s, Homer Laughlin produced many different decals with southwestern motifs and used them on several of their dinnerware line patterns. This attractive Century teapot has a Hacienda decal of a southwestern ranch complete with renditions of native American pottery, a sombrero, and a Mexican blanket. Teapots, like all other holloware pieces, are difficult to find because they were made in limited numbers, and finding a Hacienda teapot like this one with no chips, cracks, or repairs is a true delight.
