Circa 1882: Produced by Frankford, Pennsylvania's Kyser & Rex Company, the large organ mechanical bank features three moving figures and loud ringing bells that simulate the sound of an organ when the crank is turned in order to deposit a coin. This variation features a red and yellow clad boy and girl holding toys and flanking a sportily dressed chimpanzee. Impressed "Pat June 13 1882" on the reverse, this classic cast iron bank is in excellent to pristine condition with 90-95 percent of its original paint and no chips, cracks, repairs, or replaced parts, including its original trap, which is often missing. This is a high grade collector quality example of a bank that is fun to operate and undoubtedly brought a smile to the face of the child who first used it over 140 years ago.
