Circa 1980s: World famous White County, Georgia folk art master potter Lanier Meaders (1917-1998) is the king of the hill when it comes to face jug production in the second half of the 20th century, and this fine example features pursed lips (a throwback to the toothless jugs he made in his early years) and kaolin eyes with cobalt decorated pupils. Measuring approximately 9"H x 8"W x 7.5"D, this traditional green alkaline glazed face jug with attractive runs is in completely as fired factory mint condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs and is signed on the bottom in Meaders' classic cursive script.
