Circa 1750-1825: This petite 6.5"D x 3 1/8"H early American ash burl bowl retains a wonderful dry surface and has an attractive grain pattern. The bowl features a footed bottom and pronounced rim, showing the turner's skill and the care taken even in the making of such a small scale utilitarian object. Condition is excellent with no cracks or repairs and only a few smooth centuries old rim nicks commensurate with age and use. Provenance: Stonecrop Antiques, Virginia
