Circa 1910-1920: Measuring a whopping 34"L x 8"H x 6"D, this large three horse drawn aerial water tower cast iron fire toy was manufactured by Fullerton, Pennsylvania's Dent Hardware Company, one of the nation's leading toy firms. The horse drawn aerial water tower was one of the last animal drawn fire vehicles to be developed as cities began building skyscrapers and equipment was needed to fight fires on higher floors. The window for this form was relatively short as faster and more efficient motorized fire vehicles were soon developed, leaving animal drawn vehicles to the annals of history. This is a very superior version of a scarce toy and even includes its original driver, nozzle, and and tower support, which are all often missing. The toy also retains over 90 percent of its wonderful five color orginal paint scheme with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Provenance: John and Kira Olshefski Collection
