Superb Mid-Atlantic Miniature Buttocks Basket

Circa 1st Quarter 20th Century: Measuring only 3" tall to the top of the handle and 3" long by 3 3/8", this fine early 1900s miniature buttocks basket from the Mid-Atlantic region will sit in the palm of one's hand. The basket is extremely tightly woven with 30 tiny ribs and is in nearly as made condition with very minor wear and a gorgeous original mellow patina that only time can give. The handle wraps are eye catching and the graphic weave on the central rib can be found on baskets made throughout the Mid-Atlantic states.
