All Original Buddy L Coach

Circa 1927-1932: The Buddy L No. 208 Coach is one of the most marvelous pressed steel toys ever produced. It weighs 16 pounds and measures 29 /14" long, 8 1/4" wide, and 7 5/8" tall, and its unusual bluish gray-green paint makes it stand out from every other offering from the Moline, Illinois firm's famous and enduring line of large pressed steel vehicles. Both of the coach's doors open and have their original decals, and the front wheels turn by either rotating the spare tires in back of the fenders or spinning the steering wheel itself. The bus has two interior benches over the rear wheels and a whopping twenty-two seats. The coach also contains three features the company premiered on the large pressed steel vehicles (the double bar nickel bumper, the headlights, and the brass radiator knob), making this complexly designed vehicle a true groundbreaker in the field. This bus also features gold belt line pinstriping, retains all of its original decals, and has a high percentage of original paint with no touch ups whatsover. The hood has a few errant drips of old white house paint that can be removed. The coach has been subjected to typical expected gentle playwear commensurate with age and use, and is a superb collector quality example of one of Buddy L's rarest and most desirable creations.
