Circa Mid 19th Century: Measuring 10.5" x 12" and presented under wavy glass in a nice old 12.5" x 14" lemon gold frame, this 19th century watercolor on paper features a girl with long braided pigtails and a bright red dress feeding her goats in the hilly, green countryside. The girl, her head slightly tilted, stares stoically ahead while the kid munches her offering as its garland collared parent calmly stands watch. This wonderfully quirky and naive folk art watercolor with unusual subject matter is in excellent condition with expected toning commensurate with its great age. Not examined out of frame.
