Circa 1891: Measuring 24 3/8" x 24 5/8", this big, bold polychromatic paint decorated double sided Parcheesi and checkers wooden gameboard with bright mustard ground is a feast for the eyes. The 1891 date leaves no room for guessing the game's vintage, and the paint's crazing and honest heat wear (it was probably kept near a fireplace or wood burning stove) are consistent for a board of this period. Both sides of the board are vibrantly decorated and graphically pleasing, but we think the Parcheesi side with its six color paint scheme, its green borders, and its initialed and dated home square is simply over the top. This is a remarkable board in a large size, and it will light up any room in which it is placed. Ex. Bradford White
