Unique Matching Pair of Carved Mallard Decoys

Great Painted Surface

This pair of diminutive folk art mallard decoys was found in Lawrence, Kansas. Actually, these old working mallard decoys in original paint are so small that the carver may have also been using them also to attract green winged teal. These carvings are extremely primitive and folky, and the decoy maker actually painted the ducks' eyes on the front of their heads as if the ducks are somehow human -- a wonderful touch.
