Magic Bank Cast Iron Antique Mechanical Bank

Red, White and Blue Patriotic Version

Circa 1876:┬áThe J. & E. Stevens Company of Cromwell, Connecticut manufactured Henry W. Prouty’s Magic Bank in a number of color variations, and this red, white and blue version is a real stunner. This bank is interesting because it accepts coins in two ways: mechanically via the cashier on the reverse side of the bank’s entrance and manually through a coin slot on the bank’s roof. The Magic bank is almost always found with a cracked roof, but this example comes to the market with no, chips, cracks, or repairs. We are sure the new owner of this lovely centennial era mechanical bank will be more than satisfied to own this wonderful example of 19th┬ácentury Americana.
