Early New York Blue Decorated Ovoid Salt Glazed Jug

Attributed to Clarkson Croilus, Jr.

Circa 1830s: This beautifully primitive two gallon ovoid stoneware jug stands nearly 13" tall and is attributed to the Croilus family, most probably Clarkson Croilus, Jr., his celebrated father's namesake. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs on this fine example of early 19th century New York stoneware, and it will fit in perfectly in any collection of antique crockery or antique America country primitives.
