19th Century Pennsylvania or Ohio Cherry Red and Silver Painted Sled

Circa 1870-1890: This wonderfully petite 33" x 10" antique American paint decorated sled boasts fabulous cherry red and silver paint decoration. Although we are certain that this sled originates from southeastern Pennsylvania or Ohio, we believe that, because of the cherry red and silver original painted surface, snowflake and star stenciled motifs, and prominently displayed initials, further study may attribute this sled to Somerset County Pennsylvania's Soap Hollow. We have just begun our research, and we welcome any information our visitors may have on possible attribution of this sled.
